THE BOOKS

Up Against the Wall is my second book. The first, Attitude Continuum, is no longer in print, but I have copies if you are interested. My publisher plans to reprint the original soon.

Attitude Continuum

The Attitude Continuum is a way of analyzing why we do the things we do and think the way we think. I believe from what I've experienced in some 65 years of life that we operate on autopilot for most of the time. That is, we are unaware that our subconscious is constantly comparing present perceptions and opportunities to what we know to be true from the past. The result of this comparison is our attitude toward these perceptions. That attitude drives our behavior.

What is the Attitude Continuum? For me it has been a journey into seeing how I might modify my beliefs to improve my relationships, my outlook, and my life. For you, it will be what you allow it to be. It might have no impact at all, or it might change your life. I pray that the latter occurs for you as it has for me.

Have you grown weary of insider tell-all books? You know the ones I mean. They reveal every action, every nuance of protocol, procedure, and actual workings within this or that secret organization? I know I have. Further, I’m no longer enamored with whistle-blowers. It seems to me that so many have emerged as of late that nothing seems to be sacred or sacrosanct.

What follows is not a tell-all. As a matter of fact, it’s quite the opposite. It’s merely a compendium of stories and vignettes I picked up or took part in while living in Berlin. Yes, I speak Russian. Yes, I was assigned to a couple of signals intelligence units in Berlin. Yes, I taught at NSA. No, I was nothing special. I’m just one of thousands of men and women with similar skills, experiences, and background.
